The Australia Felix Wrattonbully Premium Barrel Reserve Cabernet Shiraz 2021 is a premium South Australian red crafted from low-yielding vineyards in the acclaimed Wrattonbully wine region. Produced by the trophy-winning team at Andrew Peace Wines, this Barrel Reserve combines carefully selected parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz to create a wine of exceptional richness, structure and complexity. Matured for 14 months in French oak barriques and bottled unfiltered, it preserves the depth and character of the fruit while adding refined oak influence.
Displaying a deep, inky colour with vibrant cherry highlights, the bouquet is layered with ripe red berries, dried herbs and classic eucalyptus notes. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and elegant, revealing generous dark fruit flavours supported by subtle spice, toasted oak and savoury complexity. Fine tannins and balanced acidity provide excellent structure, while the extended French oak maturation delivers a smooth, lingering finish with impressive depth and finesse.
Awarded 92 Points by Jeni Port in the Halliday Wine Companion, the Australia Felix Wrattonbully Premium Barrel Reserve Cabernet Shiraz 2021 is a superb match for chargrilled beef, roast lamb, slow-cooked game dishes and mature hard cheeses. A beautifully crafted Australian red that offers premium quality now and excellent cellaring potential.
92 Point Rated - Jeni Port Halliday Wine Companion
"55/45% cabernet sauvignon/shiraz. Still super youthful and fresh as a four year old, this classic Aussie blend is alive and kicking points with its ripe black and red fruits and lively spiciness. Wrattonbully brings an energy to its red wines and like its neighbour, Coonawarra, it is built on an engaging earthiness and firm tannin presence. Cassis, cherry fruits and blueberries, leafy, earthy elements, bay leaf, spearmint, vanillin oak and anise spice framed in fine, firm tannins. Good balance and a bright finish."
