A La Niña weather pattern influenced the growing season, bringing cooler south-easterly airflows and higher rainfall in Coal River Valley, while Pipers River enjoyed a mild summer and long autumn with above-average temperatures and low rainfall. These contrasting conditions extended the ripening season, producing fruit of outstanding flavour intensity and structure, albeit at lower yields.

In the glass, the wine opens with lifted aromas of fresh cranberries, ripe tamarillo and toasted spice, evolving into darker layers of plum and earthy complexity with time. On the palate, the interplay of terroir is clear: Pipers River contributes focus, structure and vibrant acidity, while Coal River Valley adds softness and texture to the mid-palate.
