Lifted floral, citrus and tropical fruits are further enlivened by a bright mineral acidity that refreshes now and will support the development of classic honeysuckle and toasty, marmalade characters with further time in the bottle.
First planted on the Estate in our founding year and with surviving vines dating back to 1927 that are amongst the oldest in the world, Marsanne is the white varietal on the winemaker’s tasting bench that sees the excitement levels rise each vintage. Fruit intensity is the hallmark of Estate releases from the 2020 vintage and the Marsanne from this year delivers to that end in spades.

"Tahbilk has made marsanne its own, the quality and style seemingly set in stone, or should I say steel. Citrus, apple and pear now, honeysuckle biding its time because it is certain to arrive in a year or 2, when the texture of the wine will be transformed."
92 Point Rated - Campbell Mattinson
"This is a particularly fruity, fruit salad-y, open-for-business expression of Tahbilk Marsanne. It’s both pleasant and pleasing, but it’s also well balanced and tantalisingly persistent. You can go out now, no problems. But it can also be cellared with confidence."
90 Point Rated - Huon Hooke
"Light, bright yellow colour with a fresh, clean Fuji apple aroma, the palate delicate and refined, restrained and yet intense, with length and completeness. The balance is dry but the texture is soft and the finish appetising and moreish."
Ralph Kyte-Powell
"Pale, green-tinged appearance, a fragrant nose of florals, melon and honey, and a succulent, ripe, aromatic palate, finely balanced by tight structure. Well-priced and sometimes discounted, it’s a white worth buying by the case to watch it evolve with bottle age."
Karas Irving - Melbourne Herald Sun
"This often unheard of white variety has tropical, citrus and floral notes when enjoyed now. Marsanne can also be aged, for eight to ten years, and will develop honeysuckle, tyoasty, marmalade charcaters over time."
The Top 20 Wines of 2020 - Max Allen Australian Financial Review
“This might be a familiar brand but that doesn’t mean you should dismiss it. The 2020 is the most appealing young Tahbilk Marsanne I can remember tasting: white flowers, mandarin cream, a whisper of spice. Delicious now, it’s also a sure bet for the cellar: Tahbilk Marsanne develops wonderful complex and golden flavours over many years in the bottle.
