Tasting Notes:

Boisset Family Estates Ropiteau Frères Chablis 2024 is a pristine expression of one of Burgundy’s most distinctive regions, where the vineyards of Chablis stand entirely apart from the rest of Burgundy. Here, ancient Kimmeridgian soils rich in fossilised oyster shells (Exogyra virgula) impart the unmistakable minerality and tension that define true Chablis. This historic, family-owned producer, established in 1848, brings generations of expertise to a wine that honours both terroir and tradition.

Vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and precision, the wine underwent a rapid malolactic fermentation to maintain its vibrant freshness and crystalline aromatics. A small portion matured in oak barrels adds subtle texture and complexity without overshadowing the region’s hallmark minerality.

In the glass, it displays a pale gold hue with brilliant clarity. The nose is refined and elegant, offering fresh apple and pear aromas with delicate citrus lift and a faint whisper of oak. The palate is crisp and focused, carrying lively acidity, subtle orchard fruit and a flinty mineral backbone that drives a clean, refreshing finish. The balance between fruit purity and savoury edge makes this a benchmark modern Chablis.

Produced entirely from fruit grown in the Chablis region of Burgundy, this release represents exceptional value, currently available at under cost due to a wholesaler delisting — an opportunity to secure world-class Chablis at remarkable value.

At the table, it is superb with freshly shucked oysters, grilled prawns or seared scallops, while its bright acidity also pairs beautifully with roast chicken, goat’s cheese salad or creamy seafood pasta. The wine’s minerality and freshness elevate both delicate and richer dishes with effortless finesse.
