Crafted by an acclaimed, multi-awarded winemaker, this 5 Star Rated Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2024 Cleanskin bursts from the glass in a lively display of bright green hues with a pale straw edge. The nose opens with a medley of grapefruit, passionfruit and ripe melon aromatics, all signalling the purity and precision of the season. On the palate the wine delivers a beautifully layered and complex expression, packed with juicy tropical fruit—think passionfruit, citrus zest and fresh melon—while subtle herbal nuances and a distinctive streak of minerality add both depth and drive. Its vibrant fruit profile and natural energy helped secure a consistent run of strong ratings from previous vintages, a reflection of the craftsmanship behind this release.
Each vineyard block is meticulously monitored for perfect sugar and acid balance before a dedicated harvesting crew moves in at the exact moment the fruit peaks. At the winery the grapes are gently pressed into stainless steel tanks for cold settling, then racked and inoculated with carefully selected yeasts chosen to naturally amplify the aromatic and flavour profile of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Cool, controlled fermentation protects the freshness of the fruit, with each batch typically fermenting for around 21 days. A short period on yeast lees builds subtle texture, before the parcels are blended and matured in stainless steel. The wine is stabilised without the need for fining and bottled in mid-July to capture every ounce of freshness.
Crisp, bright and bursting with flavour, this release is made to enjoy upon release while its fruit expression is at its most vibrant, though it will continue to develop added complexity over the short term. Its lively acidity and mineral edge make it an ideal partner for fresh seafood—particularly prawns, oysters and salt-and-pepper squid—as well as goat’s cheese salads, sushi, Thai dishes with a hint of spice and classic summer platters.
