Tasting Notes:

Yealands Single Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir 2021 is a polished, cool-climate expression crafted from fruit harvested at optimal ripeness to capture purity and balance. The parcels underwent cold maceration to build depth of colour and flavour before a warm fermentation with regular plunging shaped both elegance and structure. Following gentle pressing, the wine was matured in a mix of French oak barriques and completed natural malolactic fermentation in barrel, adding complexity and finesse before blending and bottling.

The aromatics are lifted and inviting, revealing dark berries, blackberry and boysenberry layered with subtle floral tones and hints of spice. On the palate, generous ripe cherry and boysenberry flavours unfold over a structured framework of fine tannins, with well-integrated oak adding depth without overpowering the fruit. The finish is smooth, balanced and persistent, showcasing both vibrancy and poise.

This impressive release earned Gold Medal and Best in Show at the London Wine Competition 2023, was rated 93 points by Cameron Douglas MS, received accolades at the International Wine Challenge 2023, and achieved a coveted 5 Star rating from The Wine Writer — confirming its standing as one of Marlborough’s standout Pinot Noir expressions.

At the table, it pairs beautifully with duck breast, roast pork belly or herb-crusted lamb. It also complements mushroom risotto, grilled salmon or a charcuterie board with aged cheddar, where its bright fruit and refined tannins bring harmony and balance.

Accolades & Awards:

93 Point Rated - Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier

" Vibrant and enticing, youthful and ripe fruited bouquet showcasing aromas of wild raspberry and crushed black cherry. There’s a whole-berry carbonic note suggesting super fresh berry aromas with a tinge of bubble-gum. On the palate - equally enticing with flavours of red berries and plums, dark red apple skin and a light savoury mineral layer. Fine easy tannins with medium+ acidity. A youthful refreshing example with lost of upfront fruit then flavours of dark spiced oak with a soft toasty edge and a whisper of salt on the finish. Balanced and well made. Ready to enjoy from today and through 2025+."
