Tasting Notes:

Mulberry, blackberry and blood orange with subtle walnut shell notes. Co-fermentation of the two varieties creates a rich and textured style, with unique tannin structure. The long time on skins take the naturally rich fruit into savoury and complex territory. Dark brambly fruits are layered with wet tobacco, aniseed and peppery spice. Velvety tannin creates depth and is defined by crisp acidity and beautiful line, leaving the palate full and long with a smoky gravelly finish.

Technical:

16 months in new and seasoned French oak 20% new Puncheons, balance in 1-4yo hogsheads and barriques.

A warm spring with even flowering and set, giving good yields. A mild summer, and long ripening period delivered full fruit flavours and balanced acidity. An outstanding Coonawarra vintage.

Deep red/purple colour with a clean, leafy and berry-like aroma, while the palate is medium-bodied and elegantly framed, with mild but present tannins, overall softness and excellent balance. A lovely red wine combining intensity and harmony. It exudes class.

A great exponent of this Aussie blend and in this vintage, pitch-perfect. A balanced interplay between bramble berries and plums, blood orange rind and juice with fennel and freshly rolled tobacco. The palate is textured bolstered by plush tannins with finely cut acidity and long on the finish.
