Tasting Notes:

Specially selected parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon have been blended to produce this wine for the Awakening range. The wine displays complex aromas of blackcurrant, liquorice and choc mint, with hints of mocha. On the palate, the dense velvety texture is complemented by cigar box, black olive notes followed by fine silky tannins from 18 months maturation in French oak barriques.

Laden with gold medals, this bottle incites heady expectations! Thankfully it doesn't disappoint. Graphite, cassis, pencil lead and bouquet garni set the aromas alight. A sinuous mid-weighted frame. Bay leaf and black olive confer a more savoury chord. The oak serves as a conduit for the intensity of fruit, dishing up a gentle bit of roughage across the finely wrought beam of grape tannins. Will age well.

It’s not too heavy and not on the light side either and the winemaking is done extremely well. I can only recommend this wine and will enjoy while it is available knowing deals like that do not come every day

Rated 5 out of 5 by bazza from Big flavoursome wine This is at the bigger end of the scale for Margaret River Cabernets. Full and lush with plentiful blackcurrant flavours backed up by black olive and bayleaf. Supportive oak in balance, but I feel the wine will benefit from a few years sleep in the cellar to allow time for all the components to soften and balance further. A very well received addition to my cellar. I am a little surprised by the amount of sediment already deposited in the bottle so careful decanting is recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jono from Great purchase Excellent drinking, light tannins and very smooth finish. Equal to Grange I have tasted. Only better was Fat of the Land (Can't remember vintage) and 1998 Elderton Shiraz. I don't believe better wines have ever, or could been made.
