Torbreck Vintners Barossa Valley Woodcutter’s Shiraz 2023 is a captivating expression of Barossa Shiraz from younger vineyards, crafted with the same meticulous care as Torbreck’s flagship wines. The 2023 vintage, shaped by a cooler growing season and a late April harvest, brings extraordinary freshness, vibrancy, and lifted aromatics not typically found in warmer vintages.
In the glass, it shines a rich crimson with a deep black cherry core. Aromas leap forth with a medley of red and black fruits—dried red currant, black cherry, and ripe plum—layered with Chinese five spice, cinnamon bark, and a whisper of white pepper. The palate follows with striking finesse: silky tannins frame luscious fruit while natural acidity adds length and vitality. The result is a Shiraz of remarkable depth, balance, and charm—undeniably Barossa yet refreshingly elegant.
A favourite among critics, the previous vintage received 96 Points from James Suckling, reinforcing its pedigree. Crafted by one of the World’s Top 100 Wine Estates (Robert Parker) and produced by a 5 Red Star James Halliday Rated Winery, this wine represents exceptional value and character from one of the Barossa’s most revered producers.
