Tasting Notes:

From one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wineries, Normans Wines (established in 1853), this McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold and masterfully crafted expression of the Clarendon subregion.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep, impenetrable squid-ink black core with a red hue, setting the stage for a powerful sensory experience. The nose is intensely aromatic, layered with dark blackberry, ripe blackcurrant, dark chocolate, and black olive, alongside nuances of violet, dried herbs, and earthy spice.

The palate is rich, structured, and elegant, showcasing dark plum, black cherry, and savoury olive, balanced by subtle oak tones and fine-grained tannins. The wine delivers a velvety mouthfeel, with a backbone of well-integrated French oak and vibrant acidity driving through to a long, complex finish.

Awarded 95 Points and a Gold Medal by Wine Showcase Magazine, 93 Points and 5 Stars by Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, and named “Wine of the Year” by Winestate Magazine, this vintage is a standout release, offering exceptional cellaring potential and a refined drinking experience.

Perfect for collectors and lovers of structured reds, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks of place, pedigree, and precision.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Point Rated - Australian Wine Showcase Magazine

93 Point Rated & 5 Stars - Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Richly fruited with savoury notes, the wine shows dark fruit intensity, leather, smoked game, toasted nut, and warm spice characters on the nose, followed by a beautifully weighted palate offering plump mouthfeel backed by rich texture and fine-grained tannins. The finishing is long and harmonious, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2029. $60.00."
