Tasting Notes:

Miles From Nowhere Origin Of Now Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is a flagship, small-batch Cabernet crafted from rare Wilyabrup vineyard parcels and made with minimal intervention to showcase true terroir expression.

Hand-harvested fruit was wild fermented, extended on skins, and matured for 17 months in premium French oak, including one-third new Tronçais barrels, building depth, structure, and longevity. Bottled without fining or filtration, the wine retains purity, elegance, and natural complexity.

Aromas of cassis, bay leaf, black olive, tobacco, and violets lead into a powerful yet refined palate of blackcurrant, plum, sweet cedar, and subtle herbal notes. Fine, firm tannins and balanced acidity drive a long, layered finish built for extended cellaring.

Awarded 96 Points by Ray Jordan, 95 Points by Jane Faulkner (Halliday), and 94 Points by Huon Hooke, this is a benchmark Margaret River Cabernet of outstanding pedigree.

Perfect with premium steaks, slow-roasted lamb, game meats, or aged hard cheeses.

Accolades & Awards:

96 Point Rated - Ray Jordan

"A traditional winemaking approach has been taken here, including open top fermentation and extended maturation. The best and most complete of any wine I have tasted from Miles. Deep and concentrated blackcurrant with added rich complexity from the black olive, dark chocolate and slight graphite nuances. Had about 17 months in French and Hungarian oaks. Has a dry chalky finish."

95 Point Rated - Jane Faulkner James Halliday Wine Companion
"From the weighty bottle to the wine within, this is big and expansive across the full-bodied palate. Yet, there’s a plushness, too, a generosity of flavour from cassis, blackberry pie and a lovely array of spices – warm and exotic. Some heft to the tannins, yet refreshment throughout."

94 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
"Medium-deep ruby with a subtle trace of purple in the meniscus; the bouquet features raspberry/mulberry/red-fruit aromas, with tobacco and pencil-shavings wood notes, while the palate is medium bodied and quite elegant, with fine, powdery tannins that impart a savouriness. Moderate length. It seems slightly forward in development, but the flip side of that is that it's approachable young. Much better than the first bottle tasted and it improves with exposure to the air."
