Tasting Notes:

The Metala 9 Mile Road Shiraz 2016 is a 9-year-old museum release that reflects both the power and elegance of Langhorne Creek Shiraz. Vibrant red with a youthful purple hue, the nose opens with ripe plums and dark berries, lifted by subtle layers of vanilla complexity.

On the palate, it is rich, mouth-filling, and fruit-driven, delivering concentrated flavours of blackberry and mulberry supported by a touch of spice. Fine, silky tannins provide balance and structure, finishing crisp and clean. This Shiraz is drinking beautifully now but will also reward careful mid-term cellaring.

Crafted by the Jimmy Watson Trophy-winning Metala Vineyards, established in 1891, this wine continues the legacy of one of Australia’s most historic producers. With an international reputation for quality and custodianship of the oldest family-owned vines in the world, Metala remains a benchmark name in Langhorne Creek Shiraz.
