Tasting Notes:

Lindsay Park Barossa Valley Shiraz 2023 is a beautifully crafted wine that perfectly showcases the vibrant fruit of the Barossa Valley. The fruit for this wine was picked over a 10-day period from a single vineyard, ensuring a range of fruit characters despite being sourced from one location. The grapes were crushed, de-stemmed, and left on skins in open-top fermenters for seven days, with a slow fermentation at cool temperatures to preserve the intensity of the fruit. The wine was then pumped over to ensure maximum extraction, before being pressed into a combination of old French and American oak barrels, where it spent 12 months maturing.

This approach results in a rich and vibrant purple wine with a red hue. On the nose, expect an enticing bouquet of luscious dark fruit, with blackberry and plum leading the charge, alongside a touch of spice. On the palate, the wine reveals plush, opulent fruit flavours, with bright berry characters of blackberry, plum, and a touch of blueberry shining through. The toasty oak, combined with a subtle hint of spice, complements the wine’s structure, and fine tannins provide excellent length and balance. Previous vintages have been highly praised, with the 2023 vintage expected to follow suit, receiving 94 points and 5 stars from Sam Kim of Wine Orbit.

This Shiraz is the perfect companion to grilled meats such as lamb or beef, or hearty stews. It also pairs wonderfully with rich cheeses like cheddar or blue cheese, where the wine’s bold fruit and structure complement the complexity of the cheeses.

With its rich, complex flavours and smooth finish, the Lindsay Park Barossa Valley Shiraz 2023 is a wine that offers both immediate enjoyment and great cellaring potential.

Accolades & Awards:

94 Point Rated 5 Stars Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Richly expressed, the perfumed bouquet shows blackberry, toasted spice, vanilla, cedar, and rich floral aromas. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight, well supported by fleshy texture and loads of fine tannins, finishing long and delectable. At its best: now to 2033."
