Crafted by legendary winemaker John Duval, former custodian of Penfolds Grange, the 2021 Entity Shiraz is a testament to the outstanding quality of the vintage in the Barossa. Sourced from old vineyards in Krondorf, Marananga, Ebenezer, Moppa and Eden Valley, this wine captures the best of both Barossa and Eden fruit with elegance and structure. The 2021 growing season delivered near-perfect conditions, with a long, even ripening period that allowed the fruit to develop exceptional flavour, balance and finesse.

On the nose, Entity opens with an aromatic lift of violets, dark plum and blueberries, layered with hints of liquorice and floral spice. The palate is vibrant yet refined, offering focused red and blue fruits alongside dark chocolate and peppery spice. French oak maturation (25% new) adds depth, supporting the fruit with silky tannins and a long, seamless finish. It’s an expressive and beautifully composed Shiraz designed for early enjoyment or long-term cellaring.

Rated 96 points by Huon Hooke for The Real Review, 95 points by both Dave Brookes in the Halliday Wine Companion and Andrew Caillard MW in The Vintage Journal, and 94 points from Mike Bennie in Wine Business Monthly, this is a standout Barossa release that rewards both immediate indulgence and time in the cellar.

Intense purple-red colour and a spicy/meaty and dried-herb bouquet, very fragrant for such a big, powerful shiraz, with dried thyme, oregano and mace notes. The palate is powerful, concentrated and the intensity driving and long. There is delicious fruit sweetness and a warming heart to this lovely wine. Great to drink now and for at least 20 years more.

Shiraz sourced from old vineyards in the Barossa (Krondorf, Tanunda, Marananga, Ebenezer and Moppa) and the Eden Valley. Vibrant and pure at heart with deep black plum, black cherry and boysenberry fruits, plentiful exotic spice, violets, licorice and wafts of light cedar and vanillin oak. Impressive fruit depth, sandy tannin support and long, plush finish of spicy black fruits and earth.
