Tasting Notes:

Crimson red in colour, this Cabernet Sauvignon has vibrant aromas of tomato leaf, plum and dark chocolate with hints of clove and earthy tones. The palate is smoot and full, showcasing rhubard, olive and coffee, finishing clean with fine tannins and generous length. This Coonawarra Cabernet as it should be, reflecting perfectly the garden where it was grown.

Technical:

The grapes were sourced from vineyards which showed the greatest fruit flavours during the growing season. The grapes were harvested in the late of the night and early morning then transported to the winery where they were crushed into static fermenters and inoculated with a selected yeast strain. Open fermented on skins for 7 days with temperature control between 18 to 28 degrees Celsius. Once optimum colour and flavour was extracted the wine was drained and pressed. After malolactic fermentation was complete the wine was racked and filtered into a mixture of oak for maturation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ibby from Exceptional quality budget wine! Dark ruby with burgundy rim. Nose has blackberry, dark chocolate, hints of mocha and dusky oak. Palate shows more dark berries, cherries, smooth dark chocolate and a tad more mocha notes. Finish is medium long with nicely integrated tannins, 14.5% Alc/Vol together with screwcap closure and exceptional legs, this will age well, 8-10 years plus. Went very well with roast lamb and all the trimmings, so good I bought a couple dozen more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mike w from Fresh, tasty and enjoyable This was a light, enjoyable and fresh wine. Just great for a drink with a meal and very fine value . Recommended if you want a light and pleasant wine. There was something bright and sunny about this wine .

Rated 2 out of 5 by Caro from Not what I expected The kindest thing I can say is that it would be ideal for mulled wine. The cabernet sauvignon 2022 has a lime chinotto taste on the back palette. I don't like chinotto. Cabernet sauvignon is usually one of the more reliably true to type varietal, but there are always exceptions. This is more like a pinot and light cabernet blend, but would probably be OK with dried Muscat grapes and soft cheese rolled in shaved, dry apricots.
