The wine is true to the Beechworth medium bodied style with elegant tannins. The colour is a lovely dark crimson. On the nose there is the dark brooding fruit and a powerful middle palate.
The Indigo Vineyard is located near the hamlet of Everton in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. The region enjoys beautiful views, fine dining, wonderful local produce, historic Beechworth streetscapes and is recognised for outstanding Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The hot days and cool nights, granitic sand and clay loam soils and a location in foothills of the Victorian Alps combine to create an amazing terroir for growing super premium grapes.
94 Point Rated - Stuart Knox The Real Review
"Dark fruits, bresaola and dried kelp on the nose. Bright purple fruits intertwine with some smoked-meats and vegetable broth. Acid gives a freshness and vitality whilst the tannins give focus to the finish. A lot going on and further layers will evolve in time "
93 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion
"This is a delicious pinot noir, with Beechworth's darker fruit spectrum of damson plum and bing cherry delicately juxtaposed against ethereal powdery tannins, well managed oak and 25% of stems into the potion for a whiff of earthen desire and autumnal mulch. This helps to stamp a savoury authority while mitigating any sense of sweetness. Dainty and flavourful at the same time."
Highly Rated - Campbell Mattison
"Grown at 350 metres above sea level. Beechworth pinot noir. 25% whole bunches. Perfumed pinot noir with raspberry jubes, musk and sweet spice notes giving its berried persona plenty of life. It feels generous and lively. It borders on ‘dry red’ territory and, more or less as a result, feels simple and straightforward. Good sense of ‘drinkability’ here."
