Brilliant deep ruby colour with bright crimson hues, our HB Basket Press Shiraz impresses with aromas of blackberry, ripe plums and mild roasted coffee. Our HB delivers an abundance of rich, ripe blackberry, black cherry and plum flavours, underlined by fine dark chocolate.

Technical:

Careful maturation in oak hogsheads ensures that our premium fruit plays the leading role, supported by the oak nuances that provide a natural spice to the long fine tannins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jenksg from Typical Hazyblur Chocolate Fruit I have previously had the 2008 & 2009 vintages of this wine, and have been impressed with the flavour & approachability of these wines. With a little extra time to open up, I believe this 2014 wine will match the others for their chocolatey flavoured mixture of fruits on the palate, adding to its complexity.

Being fans of SA shirazes (especially Basket Press and even more so Rockfords!!) it is great to find a affordable basket press that has so much going for it! Biggest issue I face it whether to drink now or save for year to come?
