Tasting Notes:

Hardy’s Heritage Reserve Bin Cabernet Sauvignon has a rich ruby red colour, with its luscious bouquet exhibiting complex aromas of bay leaf, cassis, chocolate mint and perfumed French oak. The lively and appealing palate consists of blackcurrant flavours and chocolaty notes, with a rich texture and silky tannins providing an excellent length of flavour. Foods like beef ragu and terra rossa lamb shanks pair marvellously with this elegant Cabernet Sauvignon.

Technical:

HRB stands for ‘Heritage Reserve Bin’ and is attached by Hardys to wines made by blending components from mature vineyards around the country to which its winemakers have access. This multi-regional, multi-vineyard approach yields wines of exceptional quality although it runs counter to Old World-derived notions of ‘terroir’ and individual ‘distinguished sites’ as sources of the finest wines. There is room for both approaches. The makeup of this Cabernet varies from year to year but typically includes grapes from vineyards in Western Australia (Margaret River and Great Southern) and South Australia (Coonawarra).

"Bin D681. Sure it's medium in weight but the profile is classic. It's even-handed, fluid, spread with fine-grained tannin, but not defined by it. The palate flows from blackcurrant to mulberry, from cedar wood to milk chocolate, from bay leaves to sandalwood. It won't knock you between the eyes, but it will mature gracefully, and beautifully."
