Tasting Notes:

The Franklin Tate Estates Alexanders Vineyard Margaret River Shiraz 2019 is a richly layered and beautifully composed single-vineyard release that showcases the depth, complexity and refinement of mature Margaret River Shiraz at its finest. In the glass, it reveals a deep crimson-purple hue before opening with an aromatic bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, red plum and cassis, enhanced by intricate layers of white pepper, vanilla, dark chocolate, mocha and a distinctive graphite-like minerality that adds precision and intrigue.

The palate is generous and expressive, flowing with mixed berries, dark juicy cherry fruit and warming baking spices, complemented by subtle sweet oak and savoury, earthy undertones that bring depth and balance. Fine, polished tannins frame the wine seamlessly, guiding it toward a long, tangy and savoury finish that lingers with impressive persistence and harmony. Its outstanding pedigree is reinforced by exceptional international and domestic recognition, including a Double Gold Medal at the CWSA, 95 Points and a Gold Medal at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards, and the prestigious title of “Most Outstanding Red Wine in the World” at the Wine Magazine Challenge, firmly establishing its world-class credentials.

Offered as part of a rare receivership clearance sale at under half price, this release represents extraordinary value for a wine of such acclaim and provenance. Drinking superbly now while offering further graceful cellaring potential, it pairs beautifully with slow-roasted lamb, pepper-crusted steak, beef wellington, mushroom ragù or aged hard cheeses, where its layered fruit, spice and savoury complexity shine. Powerful yet refined, the 2019 Alexanders Vineyard Shiraz delivers premium Margaret River character and exceptional drinking pleasure.

Stuart Knox - The Real Review
"Dark and intense ruby core with some purple tints. The nose is loaded with white pepper and dark slate, blue fruits linger in the background. That same enthusiastic spice reverberates across the tongue as well. A full-weighted shiraz through the middle and firm tannins grip and dry the finish. The spice does accentuate some alcohol warmth."
