Tasting Notes:

The Chain of Ponds Pilot Block Adelaide Rosé 2024 dazzles in a vibrant pink color with delicate hues of salmon pink. On the nose, the wine offers lifted aromas of strawberries and cream, intertwined with the fragrance of rosewater, a touch of musk, and a hint of white florals, creating an inviting and complex bouquet.

On the palate, the fresh fruits of raspberry and strawberry dominate, with additional notes of new season cherries. The wine’s balanced lively acidity and gentle refreshing sweetness deliver a mouthwatering finish, beautifully complementing the hints of sweet spices, musk, and strawberries and cream.

This Rosé has earned a 92-point rating from Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, with the previous vintage receiving 93 points from Wine Showcase Magazine. Produced by trophy-winning winemaker Greg Clack, this wine is a testament to the exceptional quality of Chain of Ponds wines, which have been rated as high as 98 points by James Halliday.

Technical:

Crushed, de-stemmed and chilled to air bag press as each variety ripened, the grapes were then pressed within the hour to minimise colour pickup from the skins. The juice of all portions was held cold until both blocks were harvested. The juice was blended prior to fermentation and fermented only on very light solids. The juice was inoculated with a fruit enhancing yeast and fermented at cool temperatures to preserve the natural fresh fruit characters.
