Tasting Notes:

Boisset Family Estates Ropiteau Frères Le Plants Nobles Burgundy Pinot Noir 2024 is a generous, easy-drinking expression that pays tribute to the noble French varietal at the heart of the Ropiteau Frères legacy. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grown in clay-limestone, marl and sandy clay soils scattered with pebbles, the vineyard sites sit between 200 and 400 metres above sea level, influenced by both Atlantic and Mediterranean climates. This combination of soil and climate delivers ripe fruit character balanced by natural freshness.

Cold maceration was employed to gently extract colour and aromatics before fermentation temperatures were gradually increased to 30°C, with regular cap plunging and pump-overs to build structure. Following pressing and blending of free-run and press wines, maturation in wood-fired oak barrels introduced subtle sweetness, length and gentle notes of toast.

In the glass, it shows a deep red hue with ruby highlights. The nose is warm and inviting, revealing ripe red fruits, hints of peach, and layered notes of toast, vanilla and coconut. The palate is full-bodied and plush, driven by flavours of cherry and blackcurrant with a touch of liquorice complexity, supported by soft tannins and a rounded finish.

Produced by a family-owned and operated Burgundy house, this Pinot Noir offers remarkable value and is currently available at under cost price — an outstanding opportunity to secure classic French Pinot Noir with pedigree.

At the table, it pairs beautifully with roast duck, herb-crusted pork, grilled lamb cutlets or mushroom-based dishes. It also complements charcuterie, semi-hard cheeses or a slow-cooked beef casserole, where its ripe fruit and gentle oak sweetness enhance savoury flavours.
