Angas Valley benefited from an otherwise challenging vintage as many of our top wines have been declassified in this vintage and included in our blend. The intensity and concentration of the Shiraz is supported by Cabernet structure. Soft, smooth, forward and elegant, this wine is an easy wine for any palate or table

Technical:

Angas Valley comes from the heart of Langhorne Creek. Here we combine the two classic grapes of the region -Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz - to offer the ultimate expression of The Creek’s herb, spice and juicy fruit personality.Both individual varieties were fermented on skins for 5 days before pressing. Maturation in 2 and 3-year-old oak barrels.

All ferments were kept cool to enhance the aromatics and to keep the tannins soft.The Langhorne Creek wine region experienced a long, slow vintage in 2017, beginning with high winter and spring rainfall leading into an extended, cool ripening phase. Reminiscent of long-past vintages, the grape harvest for 2017 kicked off a good two weeks later than the previous year in Langhorne Creek, with reds not hitting their stride until late March
