Tasting Notes:

Deep crimson with a violet edge. Lovely dark berry characters with fine well integrated French oak. Well-rounded fruit forward palate with blackberry, red fruits and capsicum lead towards a finish of fine-grained tannins and refined oak.

Technical:

At Abbey Rock Wines we are passionate and committed to producing elegant wines from Coonawarra, a cool climate region with well-established vines, viticultural excellence, and a reputation for producing world-class wines of great elegance. We are dedicated to the production of small volume small batch wines with our flagship being the King of Coonawarra, Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced from older, low yielding vineyards, the fruit is hand-picked in small batches, spending extended time on skins to highlight fruit flavours, before being aged in French oak. Individual barrel selectin is critical before final assemblage then bottled with minimal fining and filtration.

Our estate release is made to reflect the individual terroir of the red soils Coonawarra is famous for. We pick, ferment and then age in French oak barrels to produce medium bodied and richly flavoured wine. Post barrel ageing we blend then bottle with minimal fining and filtration. Released whilst still young to highlight a wonderful expression of fruit forward Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
