Tasting Notes:

Full-bodied, nuances of cooked black plums, blackberries, intermix minty, dark herbs, black peppercorns and roasted chestnuts linger on the finish. The fruit possesses ripe flavours, and balanced acidity provides good energy; soft and ripe tannin extractions reminiscent of dark cocoa and roasted chestnuts enrich the plate, linger to a moderately long finish.

Technical:

Fruit is picked from our own Biscay Road vineyard in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Once in the winery every care was taken during ferment in open top fermenters to give the wine maximum time on skins to extract the depth of flavour and colour that this wine exhibits. The wine is aged in new and seasoned American oak until bottling. It is ready to drink now and will also continue to reward the patient for the next 8 – 10 years.

Accolades & Awards:

90 Point Rated - Aaron Brasher the Real Review
Plums, Christmas pudding, sweet spice and a creaminess of oak on the nose. The flavours are all deep, dark and brooding: there is plenty of concentrated plumminess, dark chocolate and enough grippy tannin to balance the wine out very nicely. Seriously good value for money.

A wine flush with characters of black cherry and dark plum fruits flow first, followed by hints of clove and baking spice, high-cocoa dark chocolate and licorice. On the palate the fruit characters begin to edge towards the fig and prune spectrum, the acidity appears a little shrill and some alcohol pokes out on the finish.
