The grapes were hand-picked from a small section of old vines on our Perfect Storm vineyard in Clarendon. Fermented in traditional open fermenters, and following pressing, finished their fermentation in oak; approximately 20% of which were new. Vineyard parcels were kept separate during fermentation and maturation then we blended prior to bottling to enable us to achieve the perfect balance within the final wine as the vineyard has differing aspects which provide individual flavour profiles despite being from a singular vineyard. All barrels are tasted prior to selection for the final blend, and we deemed only 30 barrels total to be of the quality required. No fining and minimal filtration prior to bottling. The wine is then aged in bottle for another 12 months prior to release.

A superb match for chargrilled steaks, slow-roasted lamb, beef short ribs or aged hard cheeses, it is a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz delivering outstanding pedigree and value.
