Tasting Notes:

St Hugo Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2025 is a refined expression of one of the Barossa’s classic red blends, crafted from five exceptional vineyard sites including Grenache vines aged 60 and 80 years.

Grenache brings fragrant raspberry and floral notes, Shiraz adds plush dark fruit and body, while Mataro contributes savoury spice and structure. Matured for seven months in seasoned French oak, the wine reveals layers of red and black fruits, Turkish delight, raisin and toasted almond. Rich yet beautifully balanced, soft tannins and subtle oak carry the wine through to a long, spicy finish.

Awarded Top Gold at the Royal Queensland Wine Awards, 95 Points by Wine Pilot and 92 Points by Stuart Knox of The Real Review, this is an impressive Barossa GSM with serious pedigree. The previous vintage also earned 96 Points and Top of Class Gold at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Point Rated - Wine Pilot

The St Hugo range has long been a trusted Barossa portfolio that takes much of the better fruit sources previously available to Orlando and Pernod Ricard, and now that Vinarchy has at its disposal in the region. This is a terrific, modern style, the blend suited to a more medium-bodied expression via its capacity to proportion its varieties to suit. Delightfully fragrant to begin, crushed potpourri petals and raspberry/cherry jubes, then a sophisticated and elegant tone through the palate gathering all those elements into a singular voice, a perfect mix of ripeness and freshness, seamless and spicy and simply a joy to drink.

92 Point Rated - Stuart Knox The Real Review

Ink black core with a deep purple rim. Blueberry compote, roasting beef and vanilla bean aromatics. A dense and powerful palate, black and blue fruit are ripe and rich, then beefy savouries along with mocha and vanilla bring different layers of character. Tannins have ample presence but sit in context with the fruit weight as it flows to a long finish.
