Orlando Lawsons Padthaway Shiraz 2019 is a premium single-vineyard Shiraz sourced entirely from the original J Block of the historic Lawson’s Vineyard. Now released with seven years of bottle age, this museum release showcases the depth, character and longevity that have made Lawson’s one of Orlando’s most iconic wines.


Dark crimson in colour, vibrant red berries and dark plum combine with liquorice, cedar, coconut and the vineyard’s distinctive lifted eucalyptus character. The palate is rich and generous, with excellent weight, creamy oak and soft, refined tannins creating a long, polished finish. Fifteen months maturation in predominantly American oak adds further richness and complexity.


Awarded 95 Points by James Halliday Wine Companion and the Trophy for Best Individual Vineyard Wine at the Limestone Coast Wine Show, this highly awarded Shiraz is also a two-time International Gold Medal winner with an impressive 23 wine show awards.

"Vines planted in 1968, fermented as a single parcel, matured in oak for 15 months (14% new French, 63% new American, 23% old American). The fruit is pure and bright (blueberries, raspberry and summer mulberries); the ripe, succulent qualities are amplified by the foundation of American oak. What really elevates this however, is the pink peppercorn and dried exotic spice on the mid palate, creating an aura of poise and detail that is most intriguing. This is gorgeous, all things balanced and in place."
