Tasting Notes:

The Normans Holbrooks Road Merlot 2024 is a vibrant and fruit-driven South Australian Merlot crafted by Normans Wines, one of Australia's oldest and most respected wine producers, established in 1853. Showcasing the variety's naturally soft and approachable character, this release delivers exceptional drinkability with impressive depth and balance.

Bright crimson with magenta hues, the wine opens with aromas of fresh plum, blackberry and subtle hints of dark chocolate and mint. The palate is smooth and generous, featuring ripe plum and blackberry flavours supported by soft, velvety tannins and a gentle touch of exotic spice. Careful winemaking, including cool night harvesting, extended skin contact and selective oak maturation, has enhanced both fruit purity and texture while adding complexity and structure.

Awarded 92 Points by Russell Gallagher of Vinomasters, this latest vintage continues the strong pedigree of the range, following a previous vintage that was awarded an International Gold Medal at the China Wine & Spirits Awards (CWSA). Produced by Normans Wines, established in 1853, it represents outstanding value from one of Australia's most enduring wine families.

Enjoy now or cellar over the short to medium term. Perfectly paired with roast lamb, beef pasta dishes, gourmet burgers, grilled mushrooms, hard cheeses and casual entertaining.

Accolades & Awards:

Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Fruit-forward and fragrant, the bouquet shows dark plum, thyme, game, and floral aromas, followed by a silky palate that's ripe and supple. Well supported by fine-grained tannins, finishing attractively dry. At its best: now to 2027. $15.00."

92 Point Rated - Russell Gallagher Vinomasters

"Soft and approachable, revealing plum, blackberry and red cherry layered with subtle spice and gentle earthy notes. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe dark fruit flavours supported by soft tannins and balanced acidity. Notes of plum, berry fruits and a touch of cocoa emerge through the palate with persistence. A soft and approachable Merlot delivering generous fruit and excellent drinkability."
