The Normans Bin C163 McLaren Vale Shiraz 2025 is a rich and expressive example of classic McLaren Vale Shiraz, continuing the long-standing legacy of Normans Wines, one of Australia’s oldest winemaking families dating back to 1853. Part of the historic Bin Range, this release pays tribute to the Old Clarendon Winery’s renowned bin system, delivering both heritage and modern drinkability in a polished, fruit-driven style.

In the glass, it shows a deep purple-black hue, opening with lifted aromas of blueberry, ripe plum and violets, supported by subtle, well-integrated oak. The palate is generous and smooth, showcasing juicy blueberry, raspberry and blackberry layered with hints of chocolate and floral notes. Fine tannins melt seamlessly into the structure, creating a soft, supple mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish that highlights both balance and flavour intensity. Awarded 90 points by Sam Kim of Wine Orbit, it continues the strong pedigree of the previous vintage, which achieved 93 points.

This approachable yet flavour-packed Shiraz pairs beautifully with chargrilled rib-eye, slow-braised lamb shanks, gourmet sausages, mushroom risotto or aged cheddar, while also complementing dark chocolate desserts, making it a versatile choice for both entertaining and everyday enjoyment.
