Miles From Nowhere Best Blocks Margaret River Shiraz 2020 is a powerful and concentrated Western Australian red, crafted from carefully selected parcels across the region’s top vineyard sites. A cooler lead-up to vintage allowed for a later harvest, resulting in fruit with exceptional depth, balance and flavour intensity.
Each parcel was gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel with controlled maceration to achieve optimal colour and structure, before being pressed early to maintain a soft, refined tannin profile. The wine was then matured in French oak barriques for 14–16 months, with only the best barrels selected for the final blend.
The bouquet is rich and inviting, showing dark plum, blueberry and chocolate layered with savoury oak complexity. On the palate, ripe dark cherry and berry fruit deliver intensity and depth, balanced by supple tannins that provide structure and a long, smooth finish.
Awarded Trophy for Best Australian Shiraz at the Concours International de Lyon and a 10-time International Gold Medal winner, this standout release is offered as part of a winery stock liquidation, delivering exceptional value at 66% off a premium Margaret River Shiraz.
Perfect with grilled steak, slow-cooked lamb, barbecue meats or rich winter dishes.
91 Point Rated - Ray Jordan West Australian Wine Guide
90 Point Rated - Jane Faulkner James Halliday Wine Companion
"The purple-red colour is so dark it’s impenetrable. Rich and ripe fruit flavours with lots of chocolate and blocky sweet, cedary oak. Full bodied yet there’s a suppleness throughout, pliable tannins yet some grip. All in all, a solid performer."
90 Point Rated - Stuart Knox The Real Review
"Deep and intense ruby red colour. Nose fills with dark berries and dusty earth notes. Good weight of fruit on entry, there's a lush juiciness that appeals whilst the dusty and firm tannins add a sense of tension to the flow."
90 Point Rated - Ray Jordan Wine Pilot
"One of the best examples of this wine yet. Lots of powerful ripe and fleshing fruit characters. Opens with a savoury spicy dark fruit thing on the nose that leads into a balanced still tightly controlled palate. Pretty good value for a wine of this quality."
