Tasting Notes:

Bayliss Road Single Vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz 2025 is a bold and expressive release sourced from a single vineyard on Bayliss Road in the highly regarded Tatachilla sub-region of McLaren Vale. Crafted to showcase both regional intensity and vineyard purity, the fruit parcels were fermented separately in open stainless steel tanks over a 14-day period before being pressed and combined for maturation. The wine was then aged for 12 months in new French oak, adding structure, complexity and seamless integration to the powerful fruit profile.

In the glass, the wine reveals a deep, dark crimson hue. The nose is rich and inviting, offering aromas of ripe blackberry and plum layered with savoury notes of olive, liquorice and subtle oak spice. The palate is generous and round, delivering concentrated dark fruit supported by hints of spice and savoury complexity. Silky smooth tannins carry the wine across a long, seamless finish, where the influence of French oak adds depth and polish without overpowering the vibrant fruit.

Previous vintages have received impressive acclaim, including 95 Points and a Gold Medal, along with 94 Points and 5 Stars from Sam Kim (Wine Orbit), confirming the pedigree of this single vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz from the prized Tatachilla sub-region.

This Shiraz pairs beautifully with chargrilled rib-eye, slow-roasted lamb shoulder, beef brisket or smoky barbecue dishes. Its depth and richness also complement aged cheeses and hearty winter fare, making it a classic McLaren Vale Shiraz for both immediate enjoyment and short-term cellaring.

Accolades & Awards:

94 Point Rated & 5 Stars Russell Gallagher Vinomasters

"Bright purple in colour. Rich blackberry, plum, olive, liquorice, and oak spice. Full-bodied and intensely concentrated palate layers of dark cherry, blueberry, dark chocolate, and pepper, with fine, ripe tannins and mouth-filling texture. Gold-medal pedigree in every sip. Vibrant acidity drives exceptional length and freshness. Drink now to 2035."
