Tasting Notes:

Luscious bright red fruits up front including red cherry and cranberry fruit characters, with a silky tannin mouthfeel that even thought is short, is still a very soft easy drinking wine, which would appeal to most. A rare Austrian variety in Australia, it offers juicy red fruit, gentle spice and an earthy edge without too much weight. A handy bottle for drinkers who want something easy, savoury and very food-friendly.

Technical:

If you want a medium-bodied red with savoury character, bright fruit and a point of difference, this Zweigelt is a smart bottle to have on hand. Best with charcuterie, chicken, duck or turkey, plus mushrooms, soft cheeses and simple sautéed dishes. Also good with roast pork, grilled chicken, smoked foods, creamy sauces, onion, garlic, herbs, pasta, grains and potatoes.
