Z Wine Section 3146 Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
Shiraz performed well with high baumes and low yields keeping us on or toes. Ripe fruit flavour and good weighted wines helped us shape a classic and popular Barossa style with loads of raspberry, licorice, black pepper and chocolate for complexity.
Royal Estate Goulburn Valley Shiraz 2012
Bright Ruby colour and a nose of cinnamon with plums and berries, Leading to a palate of soft ripe fruit and soft tannin with a well-balanced finish.
Glen Eldon Old Vine Series Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
Red brick with hints of purple hue. Blueberry, mulberry, mint, plum and mild anise on the nose. The palate is rich concentrated mixed berry, deft use of oak provides amazing tannins balance and structure.
Hemera Estate Aurora Barossa Valley Shiraz 2013
A wonderfully integrated nose of dark briary fruits and creamy, spicy oak unravels slowly from the glass. Whilst intense and powerful, the nose has lingering, elegant notes of vibrant fruits and summer pudding. The palate is full and rich with the soft dark black and blue fruits being framed by spiced mocha oak characters. Whilst powerful and rich the palate retains a refreshing drive and fruit dominance. The quality of the wine is exemplified in the long, lingering finish.
Hemera Estate Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
A glass staining ruby purple in colour this wine leaps from the glass with clove spice, perfumed blue and black fruits and a hint of vanillin cream. The palate shows full ripe and dense black fruits with lighter cream and blueberry crumble characters. The ripe, textured tannins provide ample framework for the fruit and along with the fine oak influence ensure a long and structured finish redolent of dark chocolate and darker fruit.
Barton & Guestier Chateau Magnol Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2013
The wine has a deep ruby colour. Elegant, harmonious, promising aroma of the wine develops gradually, showing a delightful fruity bouquet with notes of red and black currant. Rich, full-bodied, rich flavour of wine charms soft, well integrated tannins, berry notes, nuances of oak and spice. The finish is long, spicy, with age complemented the flavours of oak.
Hemera Estate Limited Release Lynedoch Shiraz 2013
The backbone of this wine is sourced from a spectacular vineyard in the Ebenezer sub-region of the Barossa Valley. The dark inky fruits and strong, masculine tannins that this region provides are then carefully balanced with the pristine blue fruits and softer tannin profiles of the best Shiraz from our own Hemera Estate vineyards. The aim is to create a classic Barossa Valley Shiraz with the signature Hemera Estate elegance and character.
Draytons Family Bellevue Heritage Grand Reserve Hunter Valley Shiraz 2014
This Shiraz is amber red in colour with an attractive fruit aroma of ripe plums, blackberries and subtle oak. The palate is medium bodied, yet exhibits full spicy, peppery flavours with a soft, round tannin finish. This wine has an excellent balance of acid and fruit; it is a great representation from a vintage regarded as one of the best from the Hunter Valley.
Ladbroke Grove Museum Coonawarra Reserve Shiraz 2012
This elegant wine has ripe fruit characters with spicy and generous rich red berry flavours. The wine exhibits balanced supple tannins with an impressive palate and with careful cellaring should develop over the next 7-10 years.
Glen Eldon Old Vine Series Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
The Barossa has been producing rich full- bodied Cabernet Sauvignon wines for over a century. Our “Old Vine Serie” release continues this tradition. Located in the South Eastern corner of the Eden Valley, the vineyards were planted in 1858 and continue to impress us by producing small yet concentrated bunches of premium fruit.
Sandy loam and schist ground provide challenging conditions, low nutrients and water holding capacity for the vines to survive, rather than thrive. However over the last three centuries these vines have continued to produce small concentrated bunches of premium fruit.
Baum reached 14.5 before the fruit was hand picked and delivered to the winery ready for crushing and fermenting.
The fruit was crushed into small 2 tonne fermenters and fermented for 10-12 days with hand plunging in the morning and again in the evening, pushing the skins down into the fermenting juice, further imparting the precious colour and flavours in to the developing wine. After fermentation the skins were gently basket pressed for further flavour and colour extraction. The wine was then racked to a mixture of new and three year old French and American oak hogsheads. Every six months the wines were racked to tank and returned to oak, slowly removing deposits and assisting with clarity.
This exceptional wine has not been filtered and will develop a crust over time, hence decanting is highly recommended.
Hemera Estate Aurora Barossa Valley Shiraz 2013
The Hemera Estate ‘Limited Release’ range is where we endeavour to present the purest expression of our vineyards. Parcels of fruit that show exceptional fruit purity, intensity and elegance are set aside at vintage and carefully matured to display their finest characteristics. If the wine lives up to these high expectations it will be bottled as part of this range.
The 2013 vintage saw very low rainfall in the winter and spring leading up to fruit ripening. This resulted in small berry and bunch formation and the commencement of vintage earlier than average. The smaller berries produced intense flavours in all varieties and excellent juice to skin ratios in reds. The resultant wines have pure varietal flavours with excellent mouth-feel and length to the palate.

Hemera Estate Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
The 2014 Vintage saw the hottest summer recorded in South Australia. With 13 days reaching 40 degrees or above and normally followed by strong winds at night. This resulted in lower crops than the average and early ripening across most varieties. After the heat, a rain event caused the most February rain for 30 years, providing beneficial moisture and berry flavour to develop alongside sugar formation. The resultant wines are abundant in fruit with elegant mouth-feel.
Selected parcels of some of the best fruit were earmarked early on for this Shiraz. Sourced both from our own Estate blocks as well as very special local growers these vineyards showcase the a seamless and fine blend of Shiraz in the trademark Hemera Estate elegant house style.
Once the grapes have been identified to be of optimum ripeness the parcels are brought into the winery where they are gently crushed into the open top fermenters. After pressing, the free-run and pressed wine are combined based on taste before being transferred into a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak barrels for 18 months of maturation. Each parcel is kept separate throughout matura- tion with careful barrel selection taking place before the final wine is blended.
Barton & Guestier Chateau Magnol Haut Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2013
Dry red wine Chateau Magnol created oenologist winery Barton & Hastie Bernard full, which sought to extract maximum flavour from the grapes to present wine worthy of its name - a powerful, reliable, well-structured. Ripening of the grapes took place in a natural way, with minimal interference winegrowers, and post-harvest berries undergone thorough sorting. Alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 30 ° C and the wort pumping once a day. After aging on the lees of wine is blended, and then another 12 months aged in oak barrels. To provide elegant, well-integrated oak notes, oenologist used for maturation of 350-litre French oak barrels, 30% of which - new. After completion of the exposure, the wine is bottled and is deposited. Grape Varietals - 48% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc

Section 3146 was purchased by Joachim Zerk for 200 pound in 1846, and is the family home that grows grapes to this day. This is simply made from Barossa shiraz grown on prime terroir. Plum, wild blackberry and dark chocolate (a fugitive from McLaren Vale) have been matured in generous oak.
