The Derek Victorian Shiraz 2019

Deep purple to black colour. Intense and vibrant aroma of dark fruit and spice, beautifully varietal with ripe plum and blackberry with well integrated oak and chocolate hints coming through. The palate is fruit driven with dark fruit being the overwhelming hero here while oak and smooth tannins all working in unison. The complexity is derived from some spicy character whilst the finish is backed by a great acid back bone and the tannin structure will ensure the wine continues to drink well over the medium term.

Chaffey Bros Not Your Grandma's Barossa Valley Red 2016

Fleshy Grenache fruit and velvety, textural Tempranillo meets spicy Shiraz and structured savoury Mourvèdre. It’s a Barossa Red blend revival!

Andrew Peace Kangaroo Reserve Shiraz Cabernet Grenache

Normans Bin C169 McLaren Vale Pinot Noir 2018

This wine has a fragrant nose displaying lifted aromas of cherries and spice with some savoury notes. Wonderfully balanced pure palate, which is light with subtle texture of cherry supported by well-integrated fine tannins leading to a long elegant finish with hints of spice. An easy drinking styled Pinot Noir.

Watershed Select Vineyards Margaret River Merlot 2016

The wine exhibits aromas of red berries, plums and herbs. On the palate, notes of vanilla and mocha are complemented by a round and juicy texture and a soft finish.

McPherson Aquarius Victorian Sangiovese Shiraz 2017

This funky, carefree wine is crafted from grapes grown in our spectacularly beautiful vineyards in Central Victoria. This is a medium bodied, rustic wine with flavours of ripe cherries and earthy herbaceous notes.This wine works perfectly with rich roasted meat, cured sausages and a selection of hard cheese. Can be served with a slight chill to allow the fruit and florals to shine.

Technical:

The Derek Victorian Shiraz 2019

Sourced from premium vineyards across Victoria. The fruit was crushed then underwent cold macerating. Fermented in open top fermenters with regular pump over’s to extract both colour and tannin. Following another week of maceration the dry free run is drained to tank. The skins are then pressed and the pressings transferred to the same tank, the wine is then racked with select parcels going into barrel. The wine is aged in older oak hogsheads then bottled after maturation with minimal fining and filtration.

Chaffey Bros Not Your Grandma's Barossa Valley Red 2016

Modern share-plate dining calls for a vibrant joven-style red blend. Not Your Grandma’s Red is a judicious blend of Grenache (42%) Tempranillo (31%) Shiraz (19%) Mataro (8%) picked earlier for freshness from old vines for depth of flavour. We utilise minimal-intervention winemaking including minimal sulfites. Matured in seasoned French and American hogshead barrels.

Watershed Select Vineyards Margaret River Merlot 2016

The 2016 Select Vineyards Merlot is made to produce an easy drinking, soft, fruity and approachable wine style. The fruit used in this wine is sourced from Watershed’s estate vineyard in the Wallcliffe sub region of Margaret River.

McPherson Aquarius Victorian Sangiovese Shiraz 2017

The wine was crafted from 80% Sangiovese grapes and 20% Shiraz grapes, sourced from our Goulburn Valley vineyards in Central Victoria. The individual varieties were harvested separately over a three week period in March. Picking and crushing was completed during the cool of night to maintain freshness.

Vintage 2017 is best described as a waiting game. The season was very long with fruit slow to ripen and although the urge just to pick it all was there, we had to bide our time until we had optimal flavours and ripeness. We made it through our marathon 2017 vintage and are thrilled with the exceptional quality including a number of really extraordinary parcels.
