- YARRA VALLEY SPARKLING BRUT ROSE
Light salmon pink. Citrus, melon and hints of strawberry. Freshly baked bread notes add to the complexity. A long, lively mouth feel with fine bubbles, tight acidity and a sumptous texture providing a crisp, dry finish and strong persistence.
95 Point Rated Top 100 Wines of 2019 - James Halliday Wine Companion
"44% pinot noir, 1% pinot noir as a red wine, 55% chardonnay, traditional bottle fermentation. Red fruits to the fore, the length and balance are very good, and the wine is very fresh. Exceptional value."
93 Point Rated - The Wine Front
"A pale blush of salmon pink in the glass with notes of roses, red currants, raspberries, a hint of cocoa powder and bright briney characters on the nose.Soft, smooth and creamy in the mouth with a soft and delicate mousse. Cranberries, redcurrants, raspberries, roses, fresh strawberries and cream cheesecake on the palate with a biscuity finish. Much like the 2013 Cuvée, delicacy is the order of the day here. I feel mildly cheated that I’m not sat in a classical English garden enjoying a glass or two of this with a selection of fine amuse bouches, the sound of Aston Martin wheels crunching on gravel, birds twittering away in the distance."
90 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
"Deep quince to salmon-pink colour. The bouquet is likewise poached quince-like, mellow and rather obvious, with substantial maturity. Generous aroma and flavour. It's full and round in the mouth, ample and obvious, with a trace of tannin grip. Big and round but lacking line and finesse. It lacks a bit of subtlety, but finishes appetisingly dry and has lots of flavour."
Fruit from the upper Yarra was hand picked and underwent two fermentations - one in steel, one in bottle. Oak treatment included 5% of Reserve level wine matured in foudre. Aged for 5 years on lees without malolactic fermentation. A small percentage of Pinot Noir was vinified in red.
