Tasting Notes:
Saturated deep magenta red with a burgundy colour hue. An abundance of aromas that include fresh black current preserves, with dark strawberry and blackberry jam that are surrounded by underlying hints of butterscotch, menthol and spice. Lively, refreshing medium-bodied. Sweet berry fruits, rich plums and cassis, with hints of chocolate, molasses, caraway seed and fennel. A velvety, creamy tannin, persistent length of the palate leading to a delightful full flavoured finish.
Technical:

The 2013 vintage had two brief heat spikes prior to the beginning of March compressed the vintage, with all varieties ripening hot on the heels of each other. “Best ever” fruit composition was supported well by vine and fruit condition, which was nonetheless excellent. The vintage followed the excellent 2012 vintage.
