"Fermented in French puncheons (25% new), 100% mlf, after 6 months selected barrels were blended and matured for a further 2 months in used puncheons. Bright quartz-green; the wine must have had very high acidity before it went through mlf, for neither it (mlf) or the blending and further oak maturation has blurred the fruit profile. Grapefruit and Granny Smith fruit flavours at 14% alcohol are another deviation from accepted wisdom. Altogether interesting."

"Lots of these single vineyard expressions from Stonier these days. A worthy exploration of the region. Strong sense of the concept of ‘balance’ with fine oak, brisk acidity, cool stone fruit character, spice detail, all found in synch both in the appealing bouquet and the lengthy, relatively fine-boned palate. It feels a little tense, perhaps just a little under-powered in grape flavour, but the tautness speaks of a wine for another few years and further."
