White nectarine along with yellow peach and citrus zest combined with notes of warm brioche. The vibrant palate offers a lovely balance of lemon juice and grapefruit with an alluring textural component and toasted hazelnuts and finishing with vibrant, mouth-watering acidity.

Technical:

A drier than average Winter and growing season led to lower yields in the 2019 vintage. However, the warm January and February also ensured that Eden Valley vineyards stayed relatively disease free leading to healthy fruit. Decisions around picking were made carefully to ensure that natural acidity was retained alongside exceptional varietal characteristics.

Selected parcels of premium Eden Valley fruit were picked at optimum flavour development while still retaining excellent acidity. Fermentation was in 500 litre puncheons, 56% of which were new and the balance all 1 to 2 years old. Refreshing acidity was retained by limiting malolactic fermentation. Selected parcels also had battonage to add texture, complexity and mouth feel. The final blend was created from a selection of individual barrels.

Accolades & Awards:

92 Point Rated- Aaron Brasher The Real Review

"Spice and vanilla oak characteristics on the nose, with a good smattering of grapefruit and some struck-match leesy notes, there's also a creamy, buttery thing going on as well. White stone fruit flavours predominate and there's a nice lick of oaky creaminess, nuttiness and spice. The racy acidity is lively and keeps the mouth-feel focussed and long. A fresh and balanced wine."

Tyson Stelzer James Halliday Wine Companion

"From 2 vineyards. Fermented and matured 9 months in 56% new French oak puncheons, mlf limited to retain acidity, with some bâtonnage. Barrel selection. True to Eden Valley form, this is powerful chardonnay. White peach and fig impact is met head-on by cashew nut French oak and buttery lactic character. Phenolic grip marks a long finish."
