Tasting Notes:

White nectarine along with yellow peach and citrus zest combined with notes of warm brioche. The vibrant palate offers a lovely balance of lemon juice and grapefruit with an alluring textural component and toasted hazelnuts and finishing with vibrant, mouth-watering acidity.

Technical:

The 2018 vintage in Eden Valley will be one to savour. The growing season started off well, with winter 2017 rainfall higher than average. Spring rainfalls were only slightly below average in Eden Valley. Drier soils combined with warmer than average October and November days meant the vine canopies grew quickly; flowering well and setting a good number of bunches. January and February were warm and dry, with warm temperatures in Februrary slowing down the pace of ripening. Nights in the Eden Valley remained cool throughout the harvest period, which helped to retain fresh fruit flavours and good levels of natural aciditiy. Fruit was selected from two exceptional blocks in higher Eden Valley and one new Springton.
