- 95 POINT RATED JAMES HALLIDAY
- NORTHERN TASMANIAN PINOT GRIS FROM BAY OF FIRES
- 90 POINT RATED HUON HOOKE
- 5 RED STAR RATED JAMES HALLIDAY WINERY
This Pinot Gris is a pale straw yellow colour and the nose has lifted pear and rosewater aromas followed by a lively palate full of melon and sweet pear. The mouth feel is supple, long and smooth.
95 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion
"An invigorating blend of what is clearly exceptional fruit. Juicy, gently phenolic and impeccably ripe, sourced from the Derwent Valley (79.8%), Relbia (10.5%) and Coal River Valley (9.7%). All hand-harvested before fermentation and short maturation in tank and seasoned French oak (20%). The result is delicious. The finish, long and seamless, flecked with orchard fruits, apricot pith and a whiff of fennel."
90 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
"Fresh fig-like aromas, slightly yeasty, attractive if a trifle plain. The balance is near-dry but soft and accessible. A well-balanced, appealing style of gris."
