  • HALF PRICE CAB SAUV.
  • SAVE $120 A DOZEN.
Specifications:
Vintage: 2010
Source/Region:

SOUTH EASTERN AUSTRALIA.

Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Cellaring: ENJOY NOW; CELLAR UP TO 6 YEARS.
Bottle Top: STELVIN
Alcohol Content: 13.50
Standard Drinks: 8.00
Rating: 0
Tasting Notes:

Crimson hues frame the deep purple colour and it entices with aromas of fragrant cassis and ripe plum alongside liquorice mint and subtle oak. There are rich black fruits on the palate with sweet plum and fine grain tannins, as well as integrated oak.

Technical:

The lead up to the 2010 vintage saw a quite mild growing period accompanied by some rain. The fruit quality obtained was very good despite the challenging weather conditions.

Lower than normal yields enabled the fruit to reach flavour maturity before the rains. Fruit was selected by the winemaker and picked when both flavour and baum were optimum.

Accolades & Awards:

SUSY ATKINS, UK TELEGRAPH, OCTOBER 2013.
"Although a cross-regional blend, this is great value. It’s a deeply coloured, rich, spicy, slightly toffee’d dry “cab”; Mortlock dislikes other 'jammier' styles."
