Persian ruby red. Fragrant red raspberries and a lick of milk chocolate. Vibrancy offered from juicy red fruit notes, leading into a complex of savoury characters. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity provide an elegant structure..
Totally de-stemmed, whole berry ferments. Hand plunged once a day, increasing to twice daily during peak ferment. Gently pressed with final 50-100L/t separated off to avoid hard tannins.
92 Point Rated - Curly Haslam-Coates The Wine Front
"The Village range of wines from Yering Station are designed to show off Yarra Valley fruit as a classic expression but this young thing has more depth and complexity than you would imagine from their younger drinking range. Bold ripe strawberries, a hint of earthy farmyard and forest floor, redcurrant jelly and the umami of perfectly seared meat, sweet spices, cranberry, plum skins, sloe berries, cherries all wrapped up in a wine with noticeable tannin and mouthwatering acidity. At $26, this is at the slightly more frivolous end of the Yering Pinot Noir range but it is a smart bottle of wine that will treat your tastebuds for several years to come."
90 Point Rated - Ralph Kyte-Powell The Real Review
"Bright ruby-red and vibrant looking, this young pinot opens with strawberry and cherry-like pinot fruit of good intensity. There's a reductive whiff to it as well, and it builds foresty complexity nicely in the glass, continuing with a fine-textured, light to middleweight palate of attractive persistence. It finishes with agreeable softness and succulence. A delicious quaffer that would easily shade plenty of much-more-expensive Bourgogne Rouge wines."
Decanter World Wine Awards
"Beautifully fragrant with hints of peach, apricot and herbaceous gum tree, while the palate is plush with dark fruit."
