Beautifully pale, blushing pink in colour; this wine is intensely perfumed with lifted florals and spice accented by subtle red berry aromas.

Technical:

The 2017 vintage presented wet conditions during December, January and February with warmer conditions in the following months which resulted in a very late vintage. Extended hang time on the vine with increased canopy density due to the wet spring and summer allowed the fruit to attain excellent flavour ripeness while maintaining good levels of natural acidity.

Accolades & Awards:

Highly Rated -  James Halliday Wine Companion

"A blend of pinot noir and pinot gris that won the trophy for Best Rose at the Barossa Valley Wine Show '17. It has good structure."

Highly Rated - Mike Bennie The Wine Front

"Well, you wouldn’t read about it, but Grant Burge has produced a rose using pinots both gris and noir. Sounds like something out of the Basket Range playbook. It’s picked up some silverware at a high profile wine show somewhere in Australia too. Well there ya go. Pale salmon pink colour. Has that Provencale feel with a little extra sunshine-y red berry fruitiness in the mix. White strawberry, lime, nashi pear scents kick things off pleasantly. The palate starts creamy and ends in bitter-tangy acidity, a slide from ease to slightly coarse, but the general feel is a wine of ease of drinking. Pretty much dry, though you wouldn’t call it savoury, more citrusy, curiously. Sure."
