- LEGENDARY MARGARET RIVER PRODUCER OF SINGLE VINEYARD WINES
Vibrant crimson coloured wine with deep cherry red hues. The scintillating bouquet of this aromatic wine exudes fragrances of mulberry and dark chocolate, with savoury leafiness. The medium-bodied palate shows flavours of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and mulberry, along with minerality and fresh acidity. Enhanced by fine and silky tannins, the wine finishes dry, long and fleshy.
95 Point Rated - James Halliday Wine Companion
"Oh so easy - simply grow the grapes, pick when ripe, crush and ferment, mature in French oak, wait for the synergy, bottle when ready. Here the magic starts: cassis/blackcurrant, a touch of tapenade, ripe but deferent tannins and a waft of sweet cigar box."
Highly Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
"Deep, youthfully bright and purple-tinged colour with a sweet, very ripe bouquet of blackberry and sweet dark cherry. It’s fairly straightforward but bright, fresh and clean, the tannins firm and slightly edgy. There's a note of aromatic oak giving the bouquet a high note. It's good value."
The style of wine they are making at Fraser Gallop Estate is a wine that has greater freshness with good concentration of flavour. Blending these varieties works so well because the structural tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon are tamed by the mid-palate richness and softness of the Merlot.
A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 2% Malbec.
