Yalumba Triangle Block Eden Valley Shiraz Viognier 2014
Blended with a hint of Viognier this wine has an opaque dark red black core with a bright dark red hue. Ripe plum and liquorice aromas are to the fore underscored by hints of blueberry and lightly toasted vanillin cedar. Medium bodied with a supple mouthfeel the palate is generously flavoured with spicy dark plums and liquorice over some earth and lightly toasted vanillin cedar. Slightly dryish finish with velvet like tannins. Aftertaste of spicy dark plums, liquorice, a touch of earth and toasty vanillin cedar.
Limb Vineyards Reserve Barossa Valley Rose 2017
Samourai Rose in colour. Bright juicy strawberries and raspberries as you would expect with a hint of spice and unassuming sweetness. This wine illustrates exactly how I have been handcrafting premium wine for my entire life, in the vineyard. The terror and microclimate of specific blocks produce something different each year. This year I selected the fruit to create a lively palate full of red berry fruits with cranberry and a hint of spice to add depth on the crisp yet refreshing palate.
Einzellage 100 Year Old Vine Valley Floor Barossa Valley Grenache 2017
Lovely purple colour with red hue. A bright, red cherry, blueberry and cranberry packed nose. Light to medium bodied the bouquet doesn’t let you down as your met with overwhelming fruit flavours of blueberry and cherry, its back with some herbal notes and finishing with soft tannin which round everything up provided a wine only describable as beautifully pretty.
Stone Cottage Barossa Shiraz 2016
Deep red black colour. Layers of violets and cloves on the nose with hints of mulberry and dark chocolate. The medium bodied palate is full of sweet fruit and ripe tannins. The multi-layered depth of flavour and texture, combined with a long lingering finish, provide this wine with wonderful drinkability.
The Colonial Estate Exodus Barossa Valley Chardonnay
Bright green with pale straw edge. Wonderful purity is obvious initially on the nose with fruit driven aromas of melon, peach and a slight hint of nut. Lovely citrus flavours with an array of fruits including, peach, nectarine and melon developing into a secondary layer of flavours of fig, lees and a touch of oak provide a creamy touch. Tight and focused on the finish with great depth of flavour and a lovely touch of natural fruit acidity.
The Colonial Estate Etranger Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Deep black to purple colour with crimson notes. Blackcurrants and mulberry with minty liquorice which ensure this wine has a classic Cabernet nose finishing with a delightful touch of new oak. Fruit purity and varietal notes of mulberry, plum and blackcurrant, superb ripeness and stunning rich licorice, cedar and spice characters. Firm, fruity tannins provide the backbone, which is well fleshed out and long.
Yalumba Triangle Block Eden Valley Shiraz Viognier 2014
Eden Valley has been home to Yalumba and its Shiraz since 1849. Taking the name from Yalumba’s oldest surviving centennial Shiraz vineyard, and grapes from a handful of our most loved vineyards, the Triangle Block pays testament to this history. With a hint of Viognier, this wine embodies the Eden Valley.
Good winter and early spring rains filled the soil profile, followed by a windy spring leading to uneven fruit set. During late spring and summer conditions remained dry and warm. On the 14th and 15th of February, the season changed and approximately 100mm of rain fell in just over 24 hours. This rainfall and the following cool weather slowed ripening with vintage progressing at an almost leisurely pace. A moderate crop has produced wines with varietal fruit flavours combined with some of the best tannin and natural acids we have seen.
Limb Vineyards Reserve Barossa Valley Rose 2017
The free-run juice spent several hours on skins, giving the wine its vibrant colour and flavour, prior to cool fermentation to accentuate the red fruit characteristics.
Einzellage 100 Year Old Vine Valley Floor Barossa Valley Grenache 2017
Sourced From One Of Barossa Valleys Most Revered Growers from a single vineyard located on the outskirts of Tanunda on the Valley Floor from a vineyard which just celebrated its 100th birthday. Fruit was picked in early hours of morning when temperatures were at their lowest for the day to ensure fruit remained crisp whilst being transported to winery. The grapes were destalked and placed uncrushed into small stainless steel open top fermenters. Cultured yeast was used to start fermentation and the tanks were hand plunged spending 7 days on skins at 26 degrees. The skins we gently pressed and we kept the wine in tank to create a virgin style of Grenache to retain fleshy fruit flavours then bottled with minimal filtration and no fining.
The Colonial Estate Etranger Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Grapes were specifically sourced from the area around our favourite sub region of the Barossa – Greenock. Its hard country with the shallow grey sandy soil over red clay producing small bunches of intense, non-herbaceous Cabernet Sauvignon. Cropping levels were low and much of the older vineyards were hand picked and selected by vigneron and winemaker especially for the high fruit intensity of the individual grapes. We use extreme cold maceration to extract as much natural fruit flavour as possible and use open top fermenters and hand plunge keeping our old world winemaking philosophy front of mind during the entire process to ensure only the finest wine is aged in barrel for 12 months prior to final blending and minimal filtration.

92 Points James Halliday Wine Companion
"Excellent style of red. Excellent value. Fresh cherry-berry flavours just nudge into plum. Clove, mint and sweet spice notes. The 'hint of viognier' is noticeable but only just, and in a positive way. Just makes you want to settle in and drink it."
