Glen Eldon Kicking Back Shiraz Cabernet 2017
'Kicking Back' is the way Australians describe relaxing and having a good time with family and friends, usually around a barbeque. So we decided to create a ready to drink style wine called, 'Kicking Back', to celebrate and enjoy on those happy occasions.Â
Niche Merlot 2019
The fruit was sourced from premium vineyards located in South Australia. We picked in the cool of night when the fruit had reached its optimum ripeness then fermented on skins in static potters and rotary fermenters for a period of seven days to retain as much of the luscious natural fruit flavour as possible. Warm temperatures at the early stages of fermentation along with ta short period of post ferment maceration helped develop soft fleshy fruit and tannins while helping build structure. Following the pressing process, clarification and final blending the fruit was matured with select parcels having contact with old French oak.Â
Basedows Of Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
A mild winter and a drier than normal spring led to an early flowering and fruit set for the Barossa vineyards. A hot start to summer meant that ripening occurred early and the vintage started on the 9th February with all varieties ripening in short succession. The conditions led to an excellent growing season with the reds full of density, colour and rich flavour. The Cabernet grapes were the last variety harvested and despite lower than average yields, the quality of the wines from the 2018 Barossa vintage is set to be exceptional.
The Colonial Estate Explorateur Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018
The vineyards that make up Explorateur are based in the northwestern Barossa Valley. This is a belt of land/terroir that runs from just to the northwest of Tanunda – Marananga, Greenock, Moppa, Ebenezer, and through to Stockwell, just north of Nuriootpa. Cropping levels are kept low to ensure fruit flavour is focus. The same equipment that is accorded to our more expensive wines is made available to Explorateur. Fermentation is French in approach for up to two thirds of the wine made; the rest is vinified in a more Australian way.
The Dianne Victorian Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Sourced from premium vineyards across Victoria. After a superb growing season of warm days and cool nights, the grapes were night harvested, then the juice was carefully crushed before fermentation in stainless steel to ensure fruit flavour was focus. After minimal handling the wine was filtered and bottled.Â
Jack In A Box Bendigo Chardonnay 2019
Bendigo has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters with some variation in meso-climatic conditions due to elevation, slope and aspect. Our vineyards have a brownish loamy sand to clay loam soils over a stony clay base, with significant patches of gold-bearing quartz gravel sub-soils. Overall, the soils are acidic and fairly low in nutrients the tendency to low yields is undoubtedly the reason why the region provides white wines of such concentrated fruit flavours and wonderful acidity. The fruit was crushed and chilled before gentle pressing into stainless steel tanks for fermentation and settling. Bottled early to maintain the quality and purity of the fruit.Â
