Tasting Notes:

The wine is light to medium colour though it still has a vibrant green hue. The nose is showing lifted intense citrus notes with just a hint of toasty bottle age development, though still incredibly youthful given its age. The palate is still tight, lean and focused and only just beginning to flesh out. The tight core of citrus fruits and long, fine acid structure give this wine impeccable length.

Technical:

The 2008 vintage was the complete opposite to 2007. The drought broke in June 2007 and the rest of the growing season and vintage were cool and wet. This wine was grown on the sandy loam of the Pokolbin Hills Vineyard, which is in the Southern end of the area, tucked up under the Brokenback Range. The wine is now showing bottle age characters but still has some of the freshness of youth. This is the only time fruit from the Pokolbin Hills vineyard has ever been made into a standalone wine.
