DESCRIPTION
This Chardonnay comes from premium selections of fruit from mature vines on the Rosbercon vineyard, and traditional "hands on" winemaking has combined with an excellent growing season to produce an outstanding estate wine for early drinking. With cool nights and warm days, the Tisdall 2008 Chardonnay is an elegant balanced wine with French oak producing floral passion fruit and lemon zest characteristics.
Tisdall Wines was founded in 1971 and produced its first wines in 1973 from the Rosbercon Vineyard with plantings of predominately Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is situated at the northern part of the Goulburn Valley, Victoria and is named after the town in County Wexford, Ireland which is the original home of the family of first owner of Tisdall Wines, Dr. Peter Tisdall. The Rosbercon vineyard is blessed with a unique combination of soil and climate resulting in the production of fruit that has benefited from the right balance of loving care and a certain amount of stress.
