Tasting Notes:

The colour is pale straw with a green tinge.  A bouquet of varietal yet refined  citrus, passionfruit and hints of gooseberry and an edge of grass hay and floral notes much like those from Gato Loco’s Orchid collection. With a nicely textured mouth feel it rolls around gaining citrus, grapefruit and passionfruit drive all the way through the palate before clean zesty acids crash through the finish. A vibrant crowd pleaser that is approachable when not in the ring. A wine that will body slam your tongue.

Technical:

“Gato Loco is a world-famous orchid collector. He owns four iPods and believes vinyl is for weenies. He never buys water or women”.

Select parcels of fruit were sourced from vineyards in the iconic cool climate region of the Adelaide Hills for this wine. The fruit was hand-picked during the cool early hours of the morning. The fruit was then rapidly transported to the winery and immediately crushed chilled and pressed, where the free run juice and pressings were separated. The juice is cold settled for 3-4 days racked off solids and then fermented in stainless steel tanks with a small proportion 5 fermented in French oak barrels. Post fermentation individual batches are blended to style then the finished parcels are carefully assessed with only the finest chosen for the final blend prior to bottling.
