Tasting Notes:

The colour is mid straw yellow with bright  pale green and golden hues. It has a luscious creamy aroma of fresh peaches,  grapefruit and tropical hints with a touch of marzipan adding to the complexity. Tropical fruits flow onto the palate with peach and citrus flavours in the mouth. Nutty  creamy characters from partial barrel ferment add to the picture and the finish is long, fruity and zesty.   All of this is balanced with great acidity.

Technical:

Great winter rains in 2011 saw vines flourish leading into the season ahead. A reasonably mild summer with only a couple of heat spikes meant vintage kicked off to a normal start in the third week of February. A timely rain at the end of February brought with it a very mild and dry autumn with lovely cool nights and a more gentle pace for ripening allowing vintage to run smoothly. The fruit was sourced from a single vineyard from one of the regions most sought after and renowned growers. The fruit was picked on the 5th March 2012 and crushed then part of the blend under went fermentation in new oak whilst the balance under went malolactic fermentation to further add depth then the wine was aged for 6 months in second and third use oak.
